It’s not easy being parents to a newborn but Christina Anstead and her husband, Ant Anstead, are making it work. However, even they face challenges. The Christina on the Coast star, 36, took to Instagram to share a selfie with her hubby that perfectly depicts their relationship, which includes doing anything to make sure their baby doesn’t wake up.
“Dinner in bed because no one wants to move a sleeping baby who’s been fussy allll day #unfiltered,” she captioned the photo posted on Tuesday, October 8. LOL. It’s been a busy few weeks for the couple who welcomed their first child together on September 6. Throughout her pregnancy, Christina shared updates with fans on her journey. One week before giving birth, the blonde beauty revealed she was planning on having a C-section as a way to have the safest delivery possible.
“Well … Here we go @ant_anstead… our world is about to get rocked — in all the best ways, of course,” she captioned a pic of her baby bump, which she shared on August 30. “One week until my scheduled c-section. I chose to do this because I had an emergency C-section with Brayden and the whole experience and recovery was really hard on me physically and emotionally.”
The mom of three went on to explain that she made the decision based on past complications she had when she gave birth to her 4-year-old son, Brayden. “I really don’t feel comfortable trying to go down that route again,” she continued. “Bray was 8 pounds 13 ounces. After pushing for hours and hours, he was just stuck, and his heart rate was dropping.”
Thankfully, the delivery was a success. However, the recovery was challenging. On September 21, Christina threw her daughter, Taylor, a birthday party, which ended up taking a toll on her physically. On September 24, she admitted she was in pain and as a result, warned moms not to go overboard during the healing process. “So please, [to] anyone who just had a baby: Don’t overdo it. I always want to be the people pleaser in the family and make sure everyone knows how much I care about them, but in doing so I wasn’t taking care of myself. Back to bed rest and baby cuddles. ”
Christina shares her two older kids, Taylor and Brayden, with her ex-husband, Tarek El Moussa. The two were together for nearly a decade and although they had a messy divorce, they’ve been able to successfully coparent. The 38-year-old even brought his girlfriend, Heather Rae Young, to Taylor’s birthday party, which was held at Christina’s house. Can we say blended family goals? In September, Tarek shared his secret for building a successful coparenting relationship with an ex. “The kids are first,” he exclusively told Life & Style. “Like, that’s it, you know?” What a good motto!
