Cocktail of the Week: Dukes Jimmy Shoe Sour

By Olivia Cuccaro

Jimmy Shoe Sour at Dukes London

  • 1.5 oz Midori
  • 3/4 oz lemon juice
  • 3/4 oz sugar syrup
  • 1/3 oz egg white

To create this cocktail of the week, muddle the Midori and lemon juice together before adding the sugar syrup. Pour the mixture into a shaker with a scoop of ice and shake hard. Strain into a short glass and top with egg white. Garnish with a slice of dried fruit.

London is at its most stylish this weekend as the city kicks off its fashion week. From Burberry to Erdem to Roland Mouret, the biggest designers in the city are set to showcase their latest looks for an eager crowd in the UK. Off the runway, be sure your cocktail is just as chic as your footwear with a Jimmy Shoe Sour served at Dukes London. Inspired by — you guessed it — esteemed footwear designer Jimmy Choo, the sour cocktail is the perfect way to celebrate the season’s collections. With a tart taste that’s sure to have your cheekbones looking defined, you’ll be LFW-ready from head to toe.

“We are delighted to now be offering our London Fashion Week-inspired cocktail menu in our recently opened Great British Restaurant (GBR) and we’re looking forward to welcoming both new and familiar faces over the coming week,” said Robert Dokler, GBR restaurant manager, in speaking to Elite Traveler. “The Jimmy Shoe Sour is our personal favorite on the menu, with a perfect mix between sweet and sour and a great kick!”

The newly opened GBR occupies Dukes London as an all-day dining destination with distinctly British flair. In addition to cocktails paying tribute to LFW, the Mayfair restaurant serves traditional English cuisine (think Scotch eggs and shepherd’s pie with pickled red cabbage)  under the leadership of Norfolk-born executive head chef Nigel Mendham. If you can’t make it to LFW this year, stop by for classic afternoon tea on your next trip and enjoy scones with clotted cream and a glass of Perrier-Jouët.
