Cocktail of the Week: Honey Deuce

Honey Deuce, the official drink of the US Open

  • 1.5 parts Grey Goose vodka
  • 3 parts fresh lemonade
  • 1/2 part raspberry liqueur (we like Chambord)
  • 3 honeydew melon balls to garnish

To make, chill a Collins glass in the refrigerator or freezer. Fill with ice and add vodka, lemonade and raspberry liqueur. Garnish with honeydew melon balls on a skewer.

Game, Set, Match! In celebration of the 139th US Open (August 26 to September 8), Grey Goose is back again serving up the official drink of the sporting event: Honey Deuce. Sipping on the US Open’s trademark drink for more than a decade makes watching your favorite tennis stars duel it out at the Arthur Ashe Stadium in Flushing Meadows, New York that much sweeter. With vodka and raspberry-flavored liqueur mixed with lemonade and honeydew melon (shaped to resemble tennis balls), there is truly no sweeter drink to enjoy in the summer. What’s even better, the drinks (available at Grand Stands and refreshment vendors throughout the stadium), each come with a commemorative cup that you can take home as a keepsake of your time at the Open.

This year, Grey Goose has also released a limited-edition bottle in celebration of the annual event – you can’t miss the bright tennis balls and racquets on the label. If you can’t make it to this year’s sporting event, you can make the drink in the comfort of your home thanks to the Honey Deuce recipe booklet that comes with each bottle. And if even that sounds like too much, there are plenty of bars in New York City that will serve the cocktail for the duration of the event, including: InterContinental Barclays, 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge, The Plaza, Wild Ink, The Pierre Hotel, Park Meridian Hotel, Mr Purple and Pier 17 – among others.
