Reserva Tequila Manhattan
- 2 oz Reserva de la Familia tequila
- 1 oz Carpano Antica vermouth
- 3 d Angostura bitters
This week, enjoy a tequila spin on the traditional Manhattan. Add ingredients, stir and strain into a chilled glass. Garnish with an orange peel.
Jose Cuervo Reserva de La Familia tequila is an extra-añejo which shares rich, mellow flavors of oak, toasted almonds, vanilla and cinnamon. At the La Rojeña distillery, the oldest distillery in Latin America, the process begins with hand-selected 10 to 12-year-old agaves. Plants are then stripped of the bitter outer layer and tequila is made from the inner portion of the agave’s heart, or piña. Aged in French and American oak barrels for a minimum of five years, the tequila is stored in the Cuervo family’s private cellar and then mixed with aged tequila from the family reserves.
Released in limited batches, every bottle is numbered, dated and sealed in wax by hand. Each year, the wooden box that houses the bottle displays the work of a Mexican artist chosen by the Cuervo family.
Originally reserved for friends and family members, hence the name, Jose Cuervo is now available at Astor Wines for $199.99. For more information, please visit reservadelafamilia.com
