Too cute! Cole Sprouse had the most hilarious response after Selena Gomez revealed that she had a massive crush on the fellow Disney kid when she was 11. Staying true to his signature sense of humor, the Riverdale star came up with a clever pun in reply to the pop star’s adorable video.
“Apparently my heart was very conflicted between Juan and Cole Sprouse when I was 11,” the former Wizards of Waverly Place star captioned the funny clip on Instagram. The September 12 post showed a wall that the starlet had written all over. Inside one heart read “Selena + Juan” while “Cole Sprouse 4-Ever” could be seen in a different spot. Clearly, a young Selena was torn!
The Suite Life of Zack and Cody actor, also 27, simply commented, “Always Juan-upping me.” Now that’s what we call a punchline. The brunette beauty’s famed sitcom ran from 2007 to 2012 on Disney Channel while Cole’s show with his twin brother, Dylan Sprouse, was on from 2005 to 2008. It’s no wonder that the pair knew each other fairly well and Selena fell head-over-heels for the fellow child star.
The two are obviously still friendly but have moved on to other endeavors. Riverdale, the CW drama which Cole stars in alongside Lili Reinhart, Camila Mendes and KJ Apa is getting ready for its fourth season to premiere on October 9. As for Selena, she’s busy working on her new album, which should (hopefully) be released soon.
Despite telling Jimmy Fallon that she was “done” with the project, she captured herself still busy in the studio on August 30. She dished during her interview on The Tonight Show that her new music still has a “strong sense of pop” but will also have a few surprises. “I definitely explored more with electric guitar. A lot of soulful tracks underneath things, acoustic guitar,” the singer explained. “It all kind of hits different places that I feel is my lane for music. I just live in that world … Something that connects with people on an emotional level is my favorite.”
We can’t wait to see what’s next!
