Former Bachelor contestant Corinne Olympios thinks Clare Crawley missed an opportunity by stepping down as Bachelorette less than two weeks into shooting. “I’m really annoyed that Clare just gave up so quickly,” Corinne exclusively tells Life & Style.
“I just think it’s a little ridiculous,” the 28-year-old adds ahead of the re-airing of Nick Viall‘s season of The Bachelor on Monday, August 31. “You finally got to the point where you’re the f—king Bachelorette and you’re just going to be like, ‘Oh, I found someone, bye.’ I don’t know, but honestly, it worked out for the best because now Tayshia [Adams] is Bachelorette and she’s going to kill it.”
On July 30, Clare, 39, shocked Bachelor Nation fans when Life & Style broke the news she “threatened to quit” the ABC dating series after only 12 days on set. She claimed she had “already fallen in love” with contestant Dale Moss and told “blindsided” producers “she no longer wanted to participate in the show.”
The next day, Life & Style broke the news the network was considering Tayshia, 29, to “replace” Clare with the intention of “matching her up with the bachelors who were left” after the hairstylist’s cuts to the original roster.
On August 3, Life & Style broke the news Clare and Dale, 31, were engaged — which left room for the former phlebotomist to officially enter the picture as the new season 16 lead.
“I’m very friendly with Tayshia. She’s super cool,” Corinne exclusively gushes ahead of the launch of The Corinne Collection for HoneyBead Bracelets x Lindsay Montgomery on Wednesday, September 2. “I’m so happy for her. I think she’s honestly going to be an amazing Bachelorette and I think she deserves it.”
As for the type of guy Corinne imagines Tayshia ending up with, the blonde beauty sees a fairy tale ending in the leading lady’s future. “Like, a true gentleman,” she predicts. “Just a true, true gentleman with a good job and his head on his shoulders.”
The former Bachelor in Paradise contestant tells Life & Style there’s no doubt Tayshia — who split from BIP costar John Paul Jones in October 2019 — is up for finding love and locking it down with an engagement. “As far as I know, 100 percent,” Corinne says. “I’m really happy for her.”
Nick Viall‘s season of The Bachelor airs on ABC Monday, August 31 as part of The Bachelor: The Greatest Seasons — Ever! at 8 p.m. ET.
