Crosstown doughnuts
Doughnuts or donuts it’s that squishy fried dough either covered in plain sugar, filled with jam or finished with a glaze that satisfies my taste buds. Crosstown doughnuts started their humble beginnings with a stall at Leather Lane market. Currently, with fourteen locations across London and selling their merchandise in Planet Organic they become more accessible than ever.
Location
Crosstown Doughnuts hubs can be found scattered across London. The Fitzrovia location is near Rathbone Street off the side of Oxford Street. The window cabinet displays a small selection of doughnuts alongside the dough bites. Most of the regular doughnuts are priced at £3.95 a little hefty but so worth it. Crosstown Doughnuts make all their yeast-raised sour-dough, compotes, jams, fillings, and glazes from scratch. There’s even a vegan doughnut as an option.
Crosstown Doughnuts hubs are cashless and only take card payments. Opting for the roasted peach one. The dough is fluffy and airy, filled with roasted peach compote, topped with an almond milk white glaze, and amaretto biscuit crumble. It is truly amazing, and one of the best gourmet doughnuts out there in London. The key to making the perfect doughnut, is the kneading of the dough, using good quality oil and made fresh.
