Crystal Springs Resort presents the New Jersey Wine & Food Festival on March 31st through April 2nd, 2017. The weekend aims to connect food and wine lover with chefs, winemakers and sommeliers in the non-stop event sequence ranging from pastries and pastas to whiskeys and wine.
The weekend kicks off on Friday with a Wine Cellar Dinner from 8 p.m. to 11 P.M hosted by the Guest of Honor, Daniel Boulud. The Culinary Institute of America named Boulud “Chef of the Year,” with other honorary titles such as Chevalier de la Légion d’Honneur by the French government.
Saturday Events:
Perfectly Paired Pastries starts Saturday with pastries prepared by Chef Jessie Dardar of Le Petit Temptation from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Learn the craft of pasta making and enjoy handcrafted dishes during the Art of Fresh Pasta from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m.
The award-winning red blend, Symmetry, will be presented by winemaker Justin Seidenfeld with the opportunity to create your own blend during Create Your Own Red Blend from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. An Afternoon in Provence is designed for French sommeliers to sample spring-inspired rosé wines from Provence, France. Punch Party connects cocktail lovers with a showcase of a variety of punch cocktails. Both An Afternoon in Provence and Punch Party take place from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Rare wines will be presented in Secret of the Cellar with Robby Younes, VP of Hospitality and Wine Director of Crystal Springs Wine Cellar from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. Learn about and indulge in craft whiskies of Widow Jane from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Festivities come to a close on Sunday with a Champagne Brunch featuring a brunch buffet and free flowing Champagne from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
*Additional events hosted by Boulud on Saturday include his personal book signing from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., a Top Chef-inspired Foie Gras Challenge from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m., and VIP Grand Tasting from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. featuring premium wines and champagnes including Dom Perignon, Krug, Chateau Montelena, Staglin Estate, CJ Melka Wines, Lail Vineyards, and more.
Featured chefs include Chef Anthony Bucco, the new Executive Chef of Crystal Springs Resort’s Restaurant Latour and Chef Martyna Krowicka, former chopped competitor and Chef de Cuisine of Restaurant Latour. Former Top Chef competitors include Katsuji Tanabe, Casey Thompson, and Silvia Barban. Miro Uskokovic, pastery chef at Gramercy Tavern will be present along with Chef Hooni Kim, Chef and Owner of Danji.
