Star-studded connections! From her brief marriage to Tom Green to her romance with Luke Wilson, Drew Barrymore‘s love life has made headlines since the ‘90s.
The Scream actress was married to Jeremy Thomas for less than two months before she exchanged vows with Green in 2001. After the duo’s split, Barrymore settled down with Will Kopelman. The pair tied the knot in 2012 and went on to welcome daughter Olive that same year. In 2014, the Wedding Singer actress gave birth to daughter Frankie.
After four years of marriage, Barrymore and Kopelman announced their split in April 2016.
“Sadly our family is separating legally, although we do not feel this takes away from us being a family,” they said in a joint statement at the time. “Our children are our universe, and we look forward to living the rest of our lives with them as the first priority.”
Since finalizing his divorce in August 2016, Kopelman went on to marry Alexandra Michler. Barrymore, for her part, has been honest about her struggle to reenter the dating world as a single mother.
“I don’t know how to date with kids,” the California native emotionally told Bobby Berk during an episode of The Drew Barrymore Show in January 2022. “I’m not there yet. I have two young girls, and I don’t want to bring people home. I think that it would take me a very long time to meet someone and get to know them before I could ever even introduce them to my daughters.”
Barrymore, who has been vocal about her successful coparenting relationship with Kopelman, noted at the time that her ex-husband was “happily remarried” while she was still trying to figure out her next steps.
“My kids have the most extraordinary stepmom. Our processes have been different. Their side of the street is so functional and whole and happening, and I think I’ve been on the sidelines in a beautiful, honoring purgatory,” the Golden Globe winner added. “I’ve been saying that it’s me, it’s my choice. I don’t think I’ve said out loud that it’s really because I have two daughters.”
That same month, the Santa Clarita Diet alum clarified that she wasn’t interested in dating someone who was looking for marriage or children.
“I would maybe live with someone again. Maybe. But there’s no way I will ever, ever, ever be married again,” Barrymore said during an interview with Gayle King. “Nope. There’s no reason to be.”
