Dr. David Lickstein has the hands of an artist and the heart of an angel. “I love the idea ofhelping people, it’s extremely fulfilling,” he says. “That’s probably why we remain so involved with breast cancer patients, because it just makes us feel great to be able to help in a difficult time.”In 2016, he opened Lickstein Plastic Surgery, a private practice in Palm Beach Gardens that offers surgical and nonsurgical treatments ranging from mommy makeovers to breast and facial surgery, as well as fillers, Botox, and CoolSculpting. He’s also one of few surgeons in the area who has a Halo, a revolutionary hybrid laser that removes dark spots and reverses the effects of sun damage in one pass.
Best known for his face, breast, and body procedures, Lickstein says his patients typically fall into two groups: 30- to 50-year-olds who’ve had children and want liposuction, Botox, and breast and abdominal surgery to restore their body’s proportionality; and those over 50 who want face and neck lifts, laser treatments, and eyelid surgery to create a more youthful, refreshed appearance. “It’s not something they want to hide,” he says. “They want to hear, ‘You look good! What did you do?’”
Lickstein has also garnered a reputation forgiving back. Altruism is important to him andhis wife, Lisa, who established a communitypartnership program that encourages patients to nominate the charities that are meaningful to them for a chance to receive support. Heal so offers an internship program aimed at high school and pre-med students with an interest in plastic surgery. Participants learn the fundamentals of plastic surgery, shadow thestaff, and observe surgeries.“I think it’s an amazing thing if they can see how it all fits together,” he says. “The continuum of care.”
