One kid and counting! Marriage Boot Camp alums Amy Duggar and her husband, Dillon King, welcomed a healthy baby boy — named Daxton King — into the world on October 9. “Announcing Daxton Ryan King!” revealed Dillon’s sister Loren Bullard, who also took the beautiful first photo of the complete family, to Life & Style. “Both mom and baby are great and healthy! He was 7lbs 8oz and 20in long. Smooth delivery!”
The excited new mama delivered her son via scheduled C-section on her due date, and she took to Instagram to reveal the reason why she decided to give birth via C-section instead of a vaginal birth. “Brb.. we’re gonna go be parents now!! Surprise!! Our little Daxton will be here today!!” Amy, 32, wrote in a caption on Instagram hours before Dax was born.
“With my small frame and the fact that the [doctor] said there’s an 85% chance I’d have an emergency situation. We went ahead and scheduled a cesarean to be on the safe side. I’m sure there will be negative comments. But I have to do what’s right for my body and what’s healthy for my son. I’ve been mentally and spiritually preparing myself for this I’m trying to relax, and not worry! But I’ve never had surgery before, I’ve never even stayed in a hospital before, so I’m just a ball of nerves … soo I’d appreciate your prayers!!! But in just a few hours our lives will be forever changed! I’m focused on God’s promises and that sweet little face!! OK, daddy let’s do this!!!”
Just last month, the brunette beauty, took to her Instagram to reveal she had some (seriously relatable) cravings ahead of her due date. “Give me a mocktail and some queso,” she hilariously wrote, along with the hashtag “36weeks.” She added, “+ some color on these legs.” LOL.
Luckily, her hubby spoiled her throughout the last nine months. “I’m obsessed with snow cones,” Amy revealed to In Touch on Tuesday, August 13, at WEtv’s Love After Lockup screening presented by OK! Magazine. “So he will make a snow cone for me at, like, midnight!” She continued, “The day we found out we were pregnant, on Valentine’s Day, he got me six Louis Vuitton bags! So he has spoiled me!” Holy smokes! That said, Amy insisted, “The snow cone makes me just as happy as the LV, I’ll be honest.”
The cute couple announced they were expecting on Easter Sunday. “BABY KING IS ON THE WAY!!!” the reality star captioned a photo of the pair holding balloons that spell out the word “BABY.” “Happy Easter from our growing family to yours!!” Meanwhile, Dillon echoed the same sentiment on his own social media page. “We are completely speechless, overly excited and ready for the next chapter as new parents!”
The famous fam is notorious for getting pregnant soon after tying the knot, but the Kings waited four years. After returning home from their honeymoon, Amy dished that they didn’t make a baby in Cancun, much to their family’s disappointment.
“There’s no honeymoon baby. My cousins asked me when I got back — they were like, ‘Are you pregnant?’ And I was like, ‘Uh, no.’ And they looked shocked,” she told Us Weekly just one month after she and Dillon tied the knot. “[We’re] definitely not planning anything, not anytime soon. I think [Dillon] will be an awesome dad, and I can’t wait to be a mom someday, but we’ve got so many little cousins to love on and so many little kiddos that we don’t feel like we’re missing out. Right now, it’s like, let’s just not.”
Oh, how times have changed! Now, after much anticipation, her 19 cuzzos are giving her parenting advice. “They just told me to love on that baby and take time, just like spending time just bonding with Dax when he’s here. And not rush back to work … skin-on-skin and that kind of thing,” she told In Touch. “I already have these Instagram photos in my head of what I want to do.”
Congrats, you two! We can’t wait to watch him grow up.
