The Shard an 87-storey skyscraper, is another place to go flying up the elevators to see the magnificent sights of the London Skyline.
It was one of the spontaneous nights, at the Malaysian night, I happened to bump into some friends who were celebrating their friends birthday.
None of them booked places at the Hutong bar, but hey since she worked at the place. She managed to smuggle us in, sneaking pass door security we made it to the lifts.
3 restaurants/bars resides inside “The Shard” Aqua, Oblix, and Hutong. Hitting the lift for level 33, the reception is all-oriental themed with red lantern lights. Wooden planks, Chinese scripted walls, it blew me away.
The views of London were stunning, it all felt like a private members lounge, hitting the bar I ordered one of the cocktails. (Excuse me; I can’t seem to track down which one).
All I can say it was delicious, a perfect blend of exotic flavours, with subtle hints of the alcoholic spirits. Every drop I savoured all the delicious tasting notes.
The best view was from the toilets, I spent an awful long time in there, being mesmerised by the dazzling lights of the city. Another lady was taking selfies, and I helped her take photos for her.
I need to revisit for the food and have more delicious cocktails; it’s a romantic spot for lovers or a great place to hang with the girls.
