Demi Lovato Seemingly Shades Ex-Fiance Max Ehrich in New Song ’15 Minutes’ — See the Lyrics

Singing her truth. Demi Lovato slammed ex-fiancé Max Ehrich in her scathing new track “15 Minutes” off her seventh studio album Dancing With the Devil … The Art of Starting Over, which dropped on Friday, April 2.

The lyrics of the track seem to point directly to the quick demise of their engagement: “Changed your colors so fast / Tried to turn my friends into friends of the past / Always puttin’ you first, could’ve been your future / But you didn’t even care about me like that.”

She continued, “‘Cause you were looking for fifteen minutes, yeah / And now you got fifteen minutes, yeah / Pack your stuff, you can come and get it, yeah / Ain’t goodbye but it’s good riddance.”

Additionally, in her Apple Music interview about each song on the album, she had very little to say about the track. “Crickets. Is that an answer?” she said about the song at the time.

Life & Style confirmed Demi and Max’s breakup on September 24, just two months after the pair got engaged. According to In Touch, the “pressure” of their impending marriage was too much for the former Disney Channel actress to handle. “She’s so in love with Max that she’ll do anything to protect it, but it may be backfiring,” an insider told the publication.

In an attempt to salvage the relationship, Demi traveled to Georgia to visit Max on the set of his new film, Southern Gospel. “It wasn’t the best idea,” the source added. “Max loves Demi, but he needs his space. It’s no secret that he’s feeling overwhelmed.”

Demi Lovato Breaks Silence on Max Ehrich Split

Beyond their private issues, Demi and Max’s engagement faced scrutiny after the Young and the Restless actor’s allegedly edited thirst tweets about Selena Gomez went viral. “Selena and Demi are cute together but boy if you think Demi is prettier … you’re WRONG!” one such message from December 2010 read.

“It’s really sad when people FAKE images to put women against each other. If women have conflict, that’s between them, NOT YOU,” Demi began her lengthy statement in response to the tweets. “It’s hella rude but damn, I get it. I don’t wanna look at what’s really happening in the world either but WE HAVE TO.”

The New Mexico native went on to acknowledge that it’s “easier” to “tear apart celebrities and their relationships” because “2020 sucks and scares the s—t out of us all.” However, Demi encouraged her fans to “address it all” and “work on solutions together.”

In September 2020, Max revealed he found out about the split via “a tabloid” — not from his former flame. “Imagine finding out the status of your relationship through a tabloid,” he explained on his Instagram Stories at the time. “While your (sic) in the middle of filming a biopic movie about a Pastor in a Christian Church whose intention of the film is to help people.”

The pair have since scrubbed each other from their social media accounts and have unfollowed one another.
