Dirty Bones Shoreditch takes over from the former occupants Les Trois Garcons interior design and restaurant. Dirty Bones marking their third territory on the map in East London. For the first time ever they have put together a New York inspired breakfast menu at their Shoreditch edition.
Dirty Bones Shoredicth is located on Club Row in a Grade II listed building around the corner from Brick Lane; Shoreditch High Street overground station and Beach Blanket Babylon. It has a ground and lower ground floor and a large bar space. You can expect their usual late night fun of live music and DJ’s until the early morning.
Dirty Bones invited me down to an exclusive friends and family preview of their new site and menu. Arriving early morning, we walked through a black curtain to be greeted by a smiley receptionist. Guided to the back end of the restaurant we sat in the corner of comfy seats. The gap between the tables can be claustrophobic.
The tables are mirrored reflecting the ceiling and just looks good in photos.
The black menus foiled with their branding gives a much more luxurious feel compared to Dirty Bones High Street Kensington. I started off with a Dirty Chai, it’s Dirty Bones take on a Chai latte. The drink was good however all I could taste was milk then the actual spices.
The waiter advised us to choose a main each with sides to share. I opted for short rib hash whilst S went for chicken, waffles, and the breakfast fries to share.
Although it doesn’t seem like you get much meat, but the 14 hour slow cooked pulled short rib had maximum flavour, the dish is finished with caramelised shallots, mustard seeds and on a bed of new potatoes and 2 poached eggs.
Breakfast fries are a fantastic addition to any of the mains you get at Dirty Bones. A bowl of fries topped with 2 poached eggs drizzled with smoky ketchup.
S chicken and waffles are something I tried before at Dirty Bones. You can’t fault on their 6 hours brined chicken that gives that moist tender texture.
On Sundays after 12pm, Dirty Roast is available brisket & ox, fried chicken, beet & Portobello melt.
