In celebration of Hong Kong’s Art Month, K11 Musea has launched its first Art Karnival, an interactive art journey that includes special attractions, gastronomic experiences and workshops.
We’ve rounded up the event’s must-see attractions and not to be missed actives.
Rose II by Isa Genzken
The Art Karnival welcomes the first showcase of Rose II by Isa Genzken in Asia. The sculpture, a 8.5 metre tall long-stemmed rose, beautifully integrates with Hong Kong’s breath-taking skyline on K11 Musea’s picturesque promenade.
Genzken, a leading female figure in international contemporary art, is known for her experimental outdoor sculptures, which explore the connections between cityscape, art and architecture. Rose II originally debuted in 2010 in New York and, through its exaggerated proportions, aims at turning the personal act of giving a rose into a gesture for the cities where it’s exhibited and for their communities.
Rose II will be on display until November 2021
Location: Promenade, G/F, Visual Corridor, K11 MUSEA
Rose’s Allure
Just a few steps away from Rose II stands the interactive Rose’s Allure artistic activation, where visitors can pluck a fresh smelling rose from the giant nose sculpture inspired by a classic Greek figure. To add to the Insta-worthy experience, you can unlock a specially created filter by scanning the QR code on the flower’s petal.
You can redeem your rose through the K11 HK Mobile App upon spending HK$1,500 or more at K11 Musea. The activation will be on display until June 27
Location: G/F Visual Corridor, K11 MUSEA
The Power of the Letters art pop-up
Curated and organised by Mishamade and Coexist, The Power of the Letters by contemporary Spanish artist Edgar Plans, features the 2.2 metre tall Juanin wood art installation. In Juanin, Plans pays tribute to his father, the famed writer Juan Jose Plans, and the dreamy worlds found in books. The piece champions freedom and the concept of being able to be anyone we want.
The pop-up will be on display until June 14
Location: G/F-1F, MUSE EDITION
Steinway & Sons Spirio Piano
Acting as the perfect soundtrack to the K11 Karnival, the self-playing Steinway & Sons Spirio, the world’s finest high resolution player piano, plays one-hour sets (indistinguishable from a live act) of beloved songs, such as City of Stars from Damien Chazelle’s acclaimed movie La La Land.
The Steinway & Sons Spirio Piano will play sets until June 14 at 1pm-2pm, 4pm-5pm, 7pm-8pm
Location: Experience Chamber, 1F, K11 MUSEA
Art x Gastronomy at K11’s Art Karnival
Inspired by the Art Karnival’s exhibitions and activities, a selection of dining establishments at K11 MUSEA will offer limited-edition treats to complete the multi sensorial experience. Dishes embracing the Art x Gastronomy theme will be available at Fortnum & Mason, Glasshouse Greenery, Pasticceria Giovanni Pina 1920, Artisan Lounge, Cobo House, Artisan Lounge and more locations.

Not to be missed at K11 Musea this summer: On top of the events and installations featured in the Art Karnival, make sure to check out “Calligraphy Rhapsody – Retrospective Exhibition of Georges Mathieu” Co-Presented by K11 Art Foundation and Consulate General of France in Hong Kong and Macau, which presents the evolution of the French artist’s oeuvre with significant oil paintings loaned from important private collectors.
