For anyone who harbours a love affair with Dior, Rizzoli’s latest book release showcases the evolution of the label’s awe-inspiring haute couture creations through world-leading fashion photographer Paolo Roversi’s lens.
Roversi found photography in the era of creative giants including Richard Avedon, Irving Penn, Guy Bourdin and Helmut Newton. Uncovering their work led him on a journey of his own, capturing images that would be used in Vogue Paris, Vogue Italia, and British Vogue in the 1970s. His distinctive polaroid and high-format photography style tested and divided the line between models and their surroundings, highlighting each of his subjects in their purest form.
Thanks to his unique style, Roversi’s aesthetic transcends time, and his incredible body of work capturing Dior’s haute-couture creations – taken over the course of 27 years – is displayed within these pages.
Titled Dior Images Paolo Roversi, this Rizzoli tome will be available worldwide from February 13.
Roversi once said, “Photography is not a reproduction, but a revelation”. With this exceptional showcase of imagery, we couldn’t agree more.
