Get your nails in the mood for Valentine’s Day – flawlessly create this pretty, heart-inspired ombré manicure in just a few easy steps. And be sure to match your outfit with your new nail art on February 14th!
1. Prep and paint. After you’ve filed your nails, pushed back your cuticles and applied a basecoat, swipe on two coats of a creamy, pale pink shade and let it dry completely.
2. Create the arches of the first heart. Crisscross two hole-punch reinforcements (you can pick these up at any office supply store) so they create two arches of a heart.
3. Paint on a bubblegum-pink polish from the stickers to the tips of your nails. Be sure to remove the stickers while the paint is still drying (after a minute or so), so it settles and dries perfectly; if you pull them off too late, the paint will be gummy and leave behind residue.
4. Continue creating the ombré effect. After the pink polish is completely dry, repeat step two, overlapping the hole reinforcements closer to the tip of your nail, and then paint the tip a bright true red. Again, pull the stickers off before the paint is dry.
5. Finally, apply a quick-dry topcoat over it.
