Imagine driving through a serene farming village and spotting vibrantly colored sheep- like a scene within a dream. Photographer Gray Malin captures this exact scene in his recent photography series, titled Dream Series. The American photographer’s series features the rainbow coloured grazing sheep in rolling pastures of farm in Australia. Malin colored the flock of sheep by consulting with veterinarians and third-generation farmers and used all-natural vegetable based color treatment to achieve the effect. The pink, purple, blue and yellow colors he chose to color the sheep juxtaposed against the calm colors of the pasture really adds to the surreal and whimsical nature of the scene. Malin describes that he changed the colors of the sheep to give them more “individuality” and distinction from one another. The photographer explains, “individuality of all living things, and highlights the importance of following one’s own personal dreams.’’
