The Italian motorcycle maker unveiled a special version of its 1299 Panigale S at World Ducati Week 2016 in Misano Italy, produced in just 500 limited-edition units.
The Ducati 1299 Panigale S Anniversario weighs in at just 164kg when empty, shaving 2kg off the standard model thanks to a build featuring more carbon fiber parts. The 1285cc, 205hp twin-cylinder Superquadro engine also gets upgraded electronic technologies like Ducati Traction Control (DTC) and Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC), both in their latest versions.
Twice MotoGP world champion and Ducati brand ambassador, Casey Stoner, has already put the bike through its paces on the test track.
This exceptional and customizable bike will sell from €29,590 (approx. $32,945). The standard 1299 Panigale S is also available for €26,390 (approx. $29,381).
The Ducati brand dates back to July 4, 1926, when brothers Bruno and Marcello Ducati, and their father, Antonio, founded the Societa Scientifica Radio Brevetti Ducati in Bologna, Italy. However, it was only from 1946 onwards that the firm started making motorcycles, previously manufacturing components for devices such as radios, calculators and cameras.
