Now that the temperatures are dropping, we’re looking to upgrade our coat closet. As it turns out, there’s no need to look any further than Middleton herself. From laid-back army jackets to seriously sleek reefers, the royal knows what’s what when it comes to stylish outwear of all kinds.

It’s no secret that the mom of three loves a coat dress, but she also doesn’t skip out on the chance to amp up any look with an extra chic piece to keep warm. The duchess seemingly owns a coat in nearly every color of the rainbow and appears to have a special affinity for the color red.

One of Stylish’s all-time favorites is the checkered Massimo Dutti coat she wore during a visit with students at the University of Derby on October 6, 2020. She paired the stylish number with a cashmere sweater from the same designer and it was truly a fall-perfect ensemble. Sadly, it’s no longer available, but you may be able to scoop it up on a resale site. (For context, it previously retailed for $349).

Notably, a go-to favorite designer of the royal’s is Catherine Walker. In 2018 alone, she wore two coats by the London-based label. First, during a tour of Sweden at the start of the year, she dazzled in a red houndstooth number. Then for Christmas Day church service, the duchess donned yet another red festive double-breasted design.

As much as we love Middleton’s ultra sophisticated coats, her pared down outwear is also worth obsessing over. On a trip to Ireland back in March of 2020, she visited a farm looking totally cool and casual in a Dubarry’s Friel utility jacket, which she paired with skinny jeans and her favorite Russell and Bromley riding boots. The low-key outfit proved that she doesn’t need a fabulous wool coat to look like royalty.
