Eggs & Co, Paris.

I absolutely adore brunch, those of you who know me and have been reading my blog for a while will know my love for a good brunch or breakfast, and my addiction to the Aussie brunch scene. This was my fifth visit to Paris, and yet I'd never been out for brunch there. Apparently Parisiens aren't very fond of a big breakfast, but when on the hunt for somewhere to go we came across Eggs & Co, and after seeing photos we were instantly sold.

It was really easy to find, and is located in my favourite area of Paris; Saint-Germain-des-Prés. We entered into the tiny cafe, and were told it would be around a 10minute wait for a table for four. That was fine with us so we just waited and admired the attention to detail in the lower part of the cafe. There were eggs everywhere! Egg lightshades, egg coat hooks, Haribo eggs in jars, and numerous other egg nick-knacks.

Bella had a nice chat with the owner as she speaks fluent French, they had a laugh and a giggle as he went through the menu with her and she translated for us what everything was. The owner was lovely and did speak English, but Alex is lactose-intolerant so Bella was trying to ask him what they had that didn't contain any dairy. Thankfully they were really accommodating and she ordered a delicious looking omelette and a big bowl of fresh fruit salad.

Soon we were shown upstairs to our table, nestled in the back room. Everything was higgledy-piggledy and very sweet. All of us adored it, and Catherine #2 even hailed it as the cutest cafe ever. We ordered and waited impatiently for the food to arrive. For just 25 Euros I ordered the eggs benedict, with potatoes and a salad, a big fluffy pancake and fresh fruit salad, a freshly squeezed orange juice, and a coffee or pot of tea! Bargain!

I was super impressed that the green tea they gave me was Fortnum & Mason, and when our food arrived there were plenty of satisfied sounds around the table as we tucked in. My eggs benedict was delish, but I was a little sad that the egg wasn't very runny. Catherine #2 had the same as I did, and hers was perfect! Sadly I only got a photo of mine though - bad blogger.

Alex's lactose-free omelette was huge and she absolutely loved it, and Bella was equally as happy with her baked eggs dish.

All of us were full up, then we remembered the pancakes and fruit salad were on their way! I could only manage half of my pancake but it was absolutely perfect. Really thick but still light and fluffy!

The staff at Eggs & Co were absolutely brilliant, really friendly and more than happy to help with anything. Aside from my slightly overcooked eggs, the food was fantastic, and Catherine #2 continued the high praise by saying it was 'the best brunch I've ever had!'. We all highly recommend Eggs & Co if you're in Paris and after somewhere really cute for brunch. We left completely stuffed and didn't eat again until the late afternoon! Below is my 'I've eaten too much and now feel slightly ill' face.
