Being on a budget doesn’t mean you have to look the part now that luxury sharing app Armarium has finally launched. The invitation-only mobile app and website is the latest initiative in the market that allows for clients to loan high-end designer apparel and accessories for a fraction of the retail price.
Equipped with 30 fashion and accessories brands at its disposal, including Peter Pilotto, Marchesa and Nina Ricci, the service is the brainchild of fashion veteran Alexandra Lind Rose and Trisha Gregory, former director of public relations at Salvatore Ferragamo. While this isn’t the industry’s first start-up offering this service (more affordable alternatives include Rent the Runway and Le Tote), Armanium differs in its more exclusive and high-end offerings, with rental fees starting from $300 and retail prices, $3,000.
If you’re not as well-versed in the art of styling, you can also opt for one of Armarium’s carefully curated team of 21 celebrity and fashion stylists to help – via Skype. The rental is typically good for four days (extensions are also an option), and returns are made hassle-free with the provided packaging and dry cleaning services.
