“Fashion and style says a lot about your personality, thoughts, and lifestyle,” says actor Rehaan Roy who is the latest heartthrob of youths on social media for his tasteful style sense and charming personality. The stylish new-age actor, who strongly believes that popularity is not success, divulges his wardrobe details in a tête-à-tête with TMM.
What is style to you? Please define Rehaan Roy’s personal style.
Style is a reflection of your personality, thoughts, and lifestyle. My style is quite simple, it’s vibrant yet classy and comfortable.
When did you realize that your style quotient is unique?
I always wear what I feel like wearing. When it comes to 
clothes, I’m very moody. I go according to my mood all the time. That makes me confident and comfortable. I feel people like that. I never realized that my style quotient is unique until people started praising my looks and choices.
Give us a glimpse of your wardrobe.
So my wardrobe has two completely different sections. One is for my daily wear, while the other one is for events and appearances. In the first section, which is daily worn, I keep clothes that are basic, comfortable, and yet stylish. I go for brands when it comes to daily wear, as I really believe in quality as I’m wearing them on a daily basis.
In the other section, which is for my events and appearances, clothes are creative, vibrant and are mostly designed and conceptualized by me. I have my own set of artists who create and stitch my outfits and I think they are the biggest blessing for me.
Actors don’t get the chance to show their stylish quotient on screen, while you are someone who has been consistently wearing a lot of out of the box stuff. What you have to say about it?
Well, I don’t believe that male actors don’t get a chance to flaunt their style on screen. Nowadays men’s fashion is especially being taken care of. Yes, the clothes are chosen by the stylists of the show, but I always try to do something creative with my clothes when I wear them. I have done it many times on set as well.
Also, there is a perception that TV actors are not very stylish. Comment.
This is a myth. I believe I’m quite stylish and I’m a TV actor. The style has nothing to do with which medium you’re from. If someone is stylish, he’s stylish irrespective of the person working in films or television.
When it comes to style, whom you look up to, and why?
Well, I find my inspiration anywhere. It could be someone on the roadside market or someone from LA fashion week and both are equally important for me. Talking about celebrities, Ranveer Singh is someone whom I really look up to, because he doesn’t bother about what people will think about his clothes. He wears clothes for his own happiness. This is something that I really learned from him.
Apart from clothes, your wardrobe also has hats, caps, and glares. Is it true?
I’m not much of an accessory guy. I like to keep it simple. But yes, glares and watches are definitely my best friends when it comes to accessories.
