For the most part, Eva Mendes and Ryan Gosling are pretty private about their personal lives, but during an appearance on Access Daily on Thursday, September 12, the 45-year-old actress got candid about what parenting is like with her beau.
“It’s so fun and beautiful and maddening,” she said about her two daughters, Esmeralda, 4, and Amada Gosling, 3. “It’s so hard, of course. But it’s like that feeling of … you end your day, you put them to bed and Ryan and I kind of look at each other like, ‘We did it, we did it. We came out relatively unscathed.’ I’m so thankful I have the opportunity to be home with them.”
It looks like Esmeralda and Amada are pretty creative, which isn’t a surprise considering who their parents are. When asked if Eva thinks her girls will follow in their footsteps and become actors, the brunette beauty didn’t shut down the possibility. Instead, she opened up about how versatile they are. “Right now, they have every bug. They just like a lot of arts and crafts, a lot of painting,” she said. “We have instruments around. They pick them up, and we can’t say they actually play anything, but it’s just a playful environment.”
Eva and Ryan, who first sparked dating rumors in 2011 after working on The Place Beyond the Pines, still make sure to find time to focus on their relationship. They’re able to have date nights — such as the one they had on September 12 when they went out for sushi — thanks to their loved ones, who offer to look after their girls. “Luckily we have a lot of family support. A lot of family,” she added. “My family lives here. His family comes in. They live in Canada, but they come in all the time and stay for a very long time, and it’s very welcomed.”
It may be eight years since the parents of two worked together on a film, but that doesn’t mean it can’t happen again. In fact, Eva is open to the idea. “He’s just such a creative genius,” she said of Ryan. “There’s always stuff going on there, but I would love to at any time. I would audition for him any day.” Aw, we hope so!
