Model: Club C Legacy & Club C 85
Buy: PLEASURES’ website from August 13, Reebok’s web store and select stockists from August 20
Editor’s Notes: Picking up right where PLEASURES’ last Reebok (and adidas) collaborations left off, these new kicks don’t mess much with success. The recognizable silhouettes are intact but they’ve been given a tonal and textural makeover, making for some highly wearable spins on timeless trainers.
First up, there’s the Club C 85, which has been given a pretty outdoorsy twist in spite of their cheekily glamorous, paparazzi-inspired campaign. The 85’s black, waterproof Cordura upper is dotted with pine green suede panels, seemingly inspired by forest footwear. PLEASURES’ heart-shaped logo and a Cordura tag appear on the upper’s lateral side, and a biohazard graphic graces the tongue.
Then, you’ve got the Club C Legacy, boasting grey tones atop its mesh and suede upper and a translucent sole that makes for a semi-futuristic appearance. Well, not really, but the drone shots really do give the sneaker a next-level look. Or maybe that’s just me.
Anyways, like its Club C 85 counterpart, the Legacy also features a graphic insole emblazoned with a Parisian photograph snapped by Austin Hunkins, PLEASURES’ graphic designer.
“The Club C has set its place in history as a globally loved sneaker,” said PLEASURES co-founder Alex James in a statement. “This shoe has followed me throughout my life and holds a special place in my heart. We wanted to reimagine two distinct versions of this classic icon to shine a light on the importance of growth and change.”
