Fairline Yachts is garnering attention for its upcoming Targa 58 GTB, which features a large beach club design rarely seen on yachts below 80ft.
Due to premiere at the Cannes Yachting Festival in September, the 60-footer has been designed in collaboration with Italian Alberto Mancini, whose designs have helped the brand – formerly Fairline Boats – reassert itself as one of the world’s leading builders of luxury motor yachts from 33-68ft.
Described by the yard as a ‘large express cruiser’, the Targa 58 GTB features a 58ft 8in hull that incorporates a large swim platform big enough to carry a Williams Sportjet 345 tender and Sea-Doo Spark jetski.
With the toys cleared at anchor, the swim platform can be extended aft, while on each side, innovative ‘wings’ drop down to further expand the waterside area into a large beach club that’s overlooked by an aft-facing sofa, just five steps up.
Wayne Huntley, Fairline’s Director of Design and Engineering, said: “We are excited to announce the launch of our first beach-club yacht, the Targa 58 GTB. It truly showcases our design ethos of creating a close connection to the water.
“We strive to be at the forefront of yacht innovation and a beach club is typically a feature exclusive to yachts over 80ft. To provide this enhanced boating experience in the 60ft class is something we are very proud of. We look forward to seeing the reception this stunning yacht will receive at its official launch during the Cannes Yachting Festival.”
In the cockpit, the flexible sofa can also be arranged to face forward, while the interior features herringbone wooden flooring. The saloon features an aft galley to port opposite an L-shaped sofa and dining table. The forward lounge is portside and has a large C-shaped sofa and coffee table.
The lower deck features three guest cabins, with the first renderings showing both gloss walnut and satin cashmere oak woodwork. Fairline’s décor choices comprise Amalfi, Capri, Hamptons and St Tropez.
Five different engine options include Volvo, MAN and Caterpillar hardware, and with power outputs ranging from 1,800 to 2,600hp, Fairline expects a top speed of 36 knots. The Fairline Targa 58 GTB has a base price of £1,100,000 (about US$1,440,000) excluding taxes.
