Fashion Flashback! Relive Best and Worst Dressed Celebs From the 2020 Grammys

The 2020 Grammy Awards red carpet definitely didn’t disappoint when it came to the fashion from all our favorite stars. In fact, last year’s A-lister attendees will go down in history for their style choices.

Celebs like LizzoNikita Dragun and Tess Holliday showed off their ~lewks~ on the Grammys red carpet last January but, unfortunately, the attendees didn’t always put their best efforts forth. There can only be so many stunning style mavens at the event, and there were certainly a few fashion failures — like every awards season — so we figured it would be smart to remind you of the best of both.

The “Juice” singer ruled the red carpet in a gorgeous white strapless gown, complete with a romantic sweetheart neckline, by Atelier Versace. She even wore the gown with a matching fierce white fur stole. Lizzo won Best Pop Solo Performance for her album Truth Hurts after donning the Old Hollywood-inspired look.

Meanwhile, the YouTuber turned heads while rocking a reptilian-style nude dress that left little to the imagination, and plus-sized model Tess ended up starting a viral trend with her sweet pink gown covered in strawberry appliques. Designed by Lirika Matoshi, the dress became a phenomenon shortly after Tess wore it — and she even called out the double standard of its popularity.

“I like how this dress had me on worst dressed lists when I wore it in January to the Grammys, but now [because] a bunch of skinny [people] wore it on TikTok everyone cares,” she wrote via Instagram in August 2020. “To sum it up: Our society hates fat people, especially when we are winning.”

Days later, the body positivity advocate told People she “knew instantly the reason why the dress was getting so much attention” seven months after she wore it.

“And that’s because it was popularized by people that are deemed beautiful by society standards, in a body type that’s deemed acceptable,” she told the outlet. “I had to wonder if that would have happened if I was in a smaller body.”
