For the 2017 Only Watch Charity Auction, FP Journe donated a monopusher split-seconds chronograph with a new movement and a blue dial, which sold for more than $1m. Per Only Watch’s requirements, the timepiece was one of a kind. However, it inspired Journe to create an all-new series, and this year, the Chronographe Monopoussoir Rattrapante debuts as part of the LineSport series. The 44mm watch — available in platinum, 18K 5N rose gold or titanium — houses an all-new in-house single-pusher chronograph movement, caliber 1518, with 285 parts. With a power reserve of 80 hours, the chronograph and rattrapante functions can operate for several days. The watch also incorporates a large date indication. The 18K 5N rose gold version is equipped with a new matte-finished rose gold bracelet with rubber inserts on the bracelet links and case to act as bumpers and protect from scratches. The manual-winding movement is made in 18K gold, and the dial is silver guilloché with ruthenium and matte-gold applied numerals.
