Distinguished Swiss watchmaker Franck Muller first embarked on its amazing journey a quarter of a century ago. To mark the milestone, the renowned haute horlogerie brand presents The Legend of Time – the Franck Muller 25th Anniversary Exhibition – in Hong Kong, and also reveals a special-edition timepiece that pays tribute to its celebrated Cintrée Curvex case design.
Introduced in the early 1990s, the Cintrée Curvex’s distinctive and audacious tonneau shape fits perfectly on the wrist – and dramatically showcased the Geneva-based brand’s mastery over precious metals. For the 25th Anniversary edition, the luxurious timepiece’s seductively curved case is adorned with relief numerals that are first engraved before being covered with ceramic, finally to be re-machined to reveal a uniquely decorative pattern.
The new Cintrée Curvex model, powered by an in-house movement, displays the brand’s signature appliqué numerals alongside a 25th Anniversary logo on an enamel dial.
The 25th Anniversary Exhibition, held over five days in Harbour City, Tsim Sha Tsui, on September 20-24, provides discerning watch enthusiasts with a rare opportunity to admire Franck Muller’s impeccable expertise and unbridled sprit of innovation, and trace the watchmaker’s fascinating story through interactive games and displays

The retrospective of pioneering Franck Muller timepieces – brought specially from Switzerland for the exhibition – is showcased via a gigantic gear-wheel-shaped “time tunnel”. Among the groundbreaking watches is the Master Banker (1996) that allows global travellers to view instantaneously the time in three different time zones on a single face, all of which are adjustable with the same crown. Also on show is the Crazy Hours (2003), which displays hours on the dial in a changing order and boasts a unique jumping hour hand.
Visiting Hong Kong, too, are the Giga Tourbillon (2011), which features a 20mm-diameter tourbillon (the world’s largest) on its dial, and the Evolution 3-1 (2005), with its cutting-edge triaxial tourbillon.
In addition to celebrating the brand’s many achievements from the past 25 years, master watchmakers from Franck Muller’s Swiss manufacture are also on hand in Hong Kong to demonstrate their exceptional craftsmanship and unrivalled skills at assembling a movement.
The Franck Muller 25th Anniversary Exhibition, The Legend of Time, is at Harbour City Ocean Terminal’s Main Concourse, Tsim Sha Tsui; 10am-10pm, September 20-24, 2017.
