We can’t wait! Demi Lovato is singing the National Anthem during Super Bowl LIV on Sunday, February 2, and fans are pumped. “See you in Miami,” the songstress teased on January 16 when she dropped the big announcement. Jennifer Lopez and Shakira are already slated to perform during the halftime show, and Demi is the perfect addition. Who says it has to all be about football anyway?
Of course, people were ecstatic about the announcement considering the 27-year-old has been on a lengthy hiatus since overdosing in summer 2018. However, it sounds like she’s coming back stronger than ever. “You’re going to be incredible,” one follower gushed. “So proud of you,” another commenter added. “Demi’s not playing games,” someone else noted about her career making a comeback in full force.
It’s going to be a big year for Demi. One day prior to revealing that she would be appearing at the football game, the starlet unveiled that she will also be performing at the Grammys on January 26. “I told you the next time you’d hear from me I’d be singing,” she teased on Instagram. The promotion photo showed the brunette beauty with a short bob haircut wearing a long pink blazer and mint green pants. Other performers at the awards show include Ariana Grande, Blake Shelton, Gwen Stefani, Lizzo and Billie Eilish.
Slews of her A-list friends rallied to support the former Disney kid. “Can’t wait for this!!!” Ashley Graham gushed. “I’m crying already,” Demi’s little sister Madison De La Garza added. “YESSS HONEY! Go show them!! So happy for you!!” Bachelorette star Hannah Brown raved.
The Bachelor Nation babe and Demi have grown close over the past few months and the Alabama beauty dished a bit about their friendship. “She’s so great. I’m just really thankful for her support through everything,” Hannah told Life & Style and other reporters during a group interview on the Dancing With the Stars set on September 30. “I mean, she is always there. … That’s what I need right now is just a friend that is supportive of — and understanding of — what, like, this new life has been and she knows it on a much bigger level than I do.”
She added, “She needs friends just like we all do and I need friends just like everyone does and so it’s great to have somebody who can be a guidance of this new life and then just somebody who’s so loving and different.”
We can’t wait to see what’s next for Demi!
