Mexico’s “Beyond All-Inclusive, Beyond All Compare” Velas Resorts has appointed Gianpaolo Bellomunno as Corporate Director of Sales & Marketing, effective immediately. In his new position, he is responsible for corporate sales and marketing for the four Velas Resorts, which include Puerto Vallarta’s Casa Velas and Velas Vallarta, Riviera Maya’s Grand Velas Riviera Maya, and Riviera Nayarit’s Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit. He works in tandem with each resort’s sales and marketing team.
Bellomunno brings to his new position more than 20 years of experience in sales and marketing in the hospitality industry. Most recently, he served as Vice President of Sales & Marketing for Villa Group, which consists of the eight optional all-inclusive Villa del Palmar, Villa del Arco and Villa la Estancia resorts in Mexico. Previously he oversaw sales strategy and execution, both pre-opening and ongoing, for hotels and resorts including Westin, Luxury Collection, Libertador, InterContinental, Turaser International, Barceló, Occidental, and Allegro Resorts throughout Mexico, South America and the Caribbean.
Bellomunno is a graduate of the Instituto Tecnico Commerciale Corsico in Milan, Italy and Cornell University’s Strategic Financial Management for Hotels and Strategic Marketing for Hotels and Restaurants professional courses.
