Lamborghini just released the perfect gift for the dad who refuses to grow up.
The most powerful roadgoing Lamborghini ever made, the V12-hybrid Sián FKP 37, which was unveiled in September 2019, is also among the most difficult to come by. When production of the 807bhp hypercar begins this year, only 63 will be built – and inevitably every single one of them has already been sold.
However, if you’re desperate to get your hands on a Sián, there is an alternative avenue worth exploring – and the outlay involved will be considerably less than the car’s original HK$27.9-million (US$3.6-million) sticker price. Lego has just unveiled the latest kit in its hyper-complicated Technic line, and after several days of plugging together the almost 3,700 pieces that come in the box, what you’ll have when you’re finished is a one-eighth-scale replica – in a luridly Lamborghini shade of green – of the Sián. A model that’s so realistic, in fact, that the tiny V12 engine features moving pistons, the doors lift upwards (just as with the scissor-opening apertures of the original) and the rear spoiler is adjustable.
It sounds to us like the ideal Father’s Day present for the dad who refuses to grow up, though there’s one not-so-tiny problem. Where the heck is the old man going to put the Lego Lambo, which is actually rather large, once he’s assembled it?
