Grand Banks Launches GB54, with Flagship GB85 in Production

Malaysia-based Grand Banks has launched its first GB54, which follows the releases of the GB60 in 2017 and the Skylounge version a year later. The Johor facility is currently building a flagship GB85.

Based on a warped, semi-displacement hull, the GB54 can hit 31 knots and has a ‘length on deck’ of 53ft 10in and an overall length of 59ft 5in, plus a beam of 17ft 6in.

The first unit is finished in golden blended teak from sustainable sources and has a large cockpit leading into a saloon with L-shaped sofas on both sides and a bench-seat helm station. The galley is to port on the lower deck, next to the midships master stateroom, while the VIP suite is forward.

The flybridge features an L-shaped sofa, table, wet bar, twin-seat helm station and a davit to deploy a rib that can be stored in the aft space.

The standard engine options are twin 725hp Volvo Penta D11s with shafts, which achieve a cruising speed of 26 knots and a top speed of 31. The yacht can also be fitted with 725hp Volvo Penta IPS950s, while fuel capacity is 3,300 litres.

“The GB54 will offer cruising comfort, classic yet contemporary style, and a variety of efficient cruising speeds for any type of voyage,” the yard stated.

“The GB54  continues our strategy to design and build yachts with strong, lightweight hulls and that are finished with stylish, warm interiors along with an unparalleled level of craftsmanship.”
