Graphic Glory for the New Season

Striking monograms, logos, bold patterns and stripes – this long hot summer has been giving us plenty to play with in terms of graphics prints. Illustrators past and present are in collaboration with fashion brands to creative unique prints. From Burberry, Dior to Fendi, Givenchy, Marni and Louis Vuitton – we take you through our favourite editions of this trend.

Burberry’s New Logomania

Kendall Jenner lends here celeb status to the latest Burberry campaign for their summer TB Monogram range – a set of colour-contrasting shirts, tops and swimwear featuring the new house logo. The graphic interlaced TB lettering logo (inspired by founder Thomas Burberry) was archive-inspired by creative director Riccardo Tisci in collaboration with art director and graphic designer Peter Saville. This season, as well as fresh hues like cobalt blue and acid orange, the print is given a graffiti-like illustrative twist.

California Dreaming With Fendi

Graphic illustrative prints adorn the California Sky capsule collection at Fendi – a bold and beautiful collaboration between the Italian brand under Silvia Venturini Fendi and Los-Angeles-based, self taught visual artist Joshua Vides. Vides puts his unique and bold black-and-white marker style, reminiscent of the street and graffiti, onto arange of men’s, women’s and kids’ fashion and accessories – even the brand’s famous Peekaboo and Baguette bags. The result is a joyful range possessing childlike playfulness and creativity – a buzzy, young take for a storied Italian family label.

Marni’s Precision And Purpose

A sublime pre-fall collection lands this season at Marni. Creative director Francisco Risso has managed to make a wonderful line that’s graphic and full of precision and purpose. Each look is quirky, cool and ever so elegant – and honestly we could snap up the whole lot. The red and white print long dress with fluffy stole is a kooky statement, whilst the asymmetrical black and white circle print dress over the casual white sweatshirt is an epic outfit for a party. And let’s not forget those shoes.

Dior’s Globetrotting Maps

Since major travel is put on hold for the time being, some are looking towards style for our seasonal dose of global inspiration. An Around the World collection by Christian Dior helps scratch the itch temporarily – so our favourite two being the woven Saddle Bag and Book Tote, featuring an illustrative old maps and exotic scenes of vintage wilderness.

Getting Crafty With Louis Vuitton

Here’s the arm candy we’ve all been waiting for. The LV Crafty Collection is a veritable kick of style in an ultra bold and youthful range of bags. Vivid and vibrant, we’re really appreciating the graphic prints right here. Pop-art stylings that draw from graffiti art and neo-expressionism, pins down that high-low cultural clash that Louis Vuitton has become such an expert at over the years. Then, available in two colour schemes, the LV Crafty pattern comes on the famed French House’s most iconic models such as the large Onthego tote, the NéoNoé bucket bag and adorable little Boite Chapeau Souple. The magnified illustrative patterns encase a LV Monogram Giant motif, bringing a vibrancy and frenetic energy to the age old traditional monogram in the LV Crafty series. This print isn’t for the faint of heart, and we’re thankful for that.

Striped Bare With Givenchy

The tan brown, white and neon orange stripes of this pre-fall Givenchy overnight bag give it a touch of the vintage, but the shape and size of the model is ever so contemporary – a clever combination that’s got our approval.
