Greubel Forsey has long been a leader in innovation. Its newest hand-wound Art Piece watch features a patented Double Tourbillon 30° (meaning the double tourbillon escapement is inclined at a 30-degree angle) that is designed to take center stage as a piece of art. In this watch, time is secondary, and it features a push-piece that needs to be activated in order to obtain the indication of the hours and minutes on the subdial at 5 o’clock. The power reserve indicator is shown via a long hand that reaches from the hours/minutes to the left portion of the dial at 7 o’clock. The concept behind the watch is to be more concerned with the time remaining than with the current time. Signed by Robert Greubel and Stephen Forsey, the Art Piece 2 will be limited in production to just a few pieces per year.
