Hannah Brown’s Brother Patrick Reveals He Overdosed: ‘Tomorrow Isn’t Promised’

A life-changing experience. The Bachelorette star Hannah Brown’s brother, Patrick Brown, revealed he suffered an overdose on March 1 while taking to Instagram with a statement about the epiphany he had after the frightening incident.

“I have been very hesitant to post this because of my pride and ego, but God has been weighing on my heart lately to share,” Patrick began his post on Tuesday, March 17, before expressing how appreciative he is to be alive. “I ended up spending two days on a ventilator and I am so grateful to be here to share this with everyone.”

The ABC alum’s younger sibling said he didn’t want to open up about what happened for “pity,” but he did want to assure his concerned followers that he’s OK and focusing on getting well. “Y’all are the reason I fully intend to take my story and share it to hopefully save another [person’s] loved ones [from having] to go through waiting by the bedside hoping they wake up,” he continued.

“[Rather] than being mad at myself for this, I am thankful this happened. I have grown so much closer to God, healing my heart, and finding out who has my best interest at heart,” Patrick explained alongside the photo tagged at Soba Recovery, which is a rehabilitation center in Bexar County, Texas. “This is my second chance and I intend to make the best out of it and can’t wait to share where my testimony goes from here!”

Hannah’s brother also shared a powerful statement about living life to the fullest, while highlighting the importance of checking in with our loved ones to make sure they are doing fine.

“Tomorrow isn’t promised, so live it for the king, hold your loved ones a little harder everyday and check in on them,” he concluded his caption. “Things like this don’t happen suddenly, it happens in the dark and slowly. Sometimes all it takes is a simple text or phone call to show someone you care.”

After seeing his message, several people showed support in the comments section by praising his bravery for speaking out. “Thank you for your courageous and honest post,” one replied. “Keep it up brother, one day at a time,” another wrote.

We’re keeping the Brown family in our thoughts as Patrick focuses on his recovery.
