Happy Father’s Day! Ryan Reynolds’ Hilarious Quotes on Parenting Are Sure to Give Your Dad a Chuckle

It’s no secret that Ryan Reynolds has an amazing sense of humor when it comes to parenting his three daughters — James, 6, and Inez, 4, and Betty, 20 months — with wife Blake Lively. Father’s Day is a perfect time to look back at some of his most hilarious quotes about raising kids — and they might give your dad a laugh, too. From teaching the tiny tots life lessons to going on Disneyland trips (sort of), he has kept us cracking up along the way.

Although Ryan adores his daughters (even if his tweets have a funny way of showing it), an insider previously dished to Life & Style that the Deadpool actor and the Gossip Girl alum were hoping for a son when they were pregnant with their third child. “They already have two daughters … and while they’re just hoping for a healthy child, they’re secretly wanting a boy,” the source revealed in May 2019. “Ryan says he’s outnumbered at home, he’s trying to even the playing field, so a son would be great.”

The happy couple seems to have girls in their bloodline — as they welcomed their third little girl in October 2019. Since then, the Hitman’s Bodyguard star and the A Simple Favor actress, who started dating after meeting on the set of Green Lantern in 2010, have been making time for their relationship amid their busy Hollywood schedules and responsibilities as parents.

“They keep the romance alive with date nights!” a separate insider exclusively told Life & Style after little Betty was born. “Even if it means doing something simple, like going on a hike, enjoying a home-cooked dinner together or movie night — they’re an extremely private couple and aren’t really into the Hollywood scene.”

However, it seems the actor would sometimes rather hang at home with his kiddos. “Leaving the house is getting harder and harder,” Ryan  previously revealed on the Today show. “It gets a lot harder when they ask, ‘Where are you going? When are you coming home? Why are you leaving me?’”
