Congrats! Malika Haqq has officially welcomed her first child, a son, with rapper O.T. Genasis (real name Odis Oliver Flores). She shared the exciting news via Instagram on Monday, March 16.
“Ace Flores 3.14.2020,” she captioned the photo showing their bundle of joy’s tiny hand resting in both of their palms.
The 37-year-old has been very candid about her pregnancy journey, including where things stand with O.T., 32. “Relationships don’t always work out the way we would hope, but between love [and] friendship we have created a baby boy,” Malika captioned a photo of herself and “Cut It” artist at her bear-themed baby shower in February. “I’ve been single the last [eight] months, but I am in no way alone.”
Through everything, the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star’s on-again, off-again beau has stayed supportive of her. “O.T. and I have attended every doctor’s [appointment] and overall loved on our son together while anticipating his arrival,” she continued. “My priority over the past few months has been to nurture and protect my unborn child.”
Their romantic chapter is over, for now, but it’s clear Malika values her ex. “Our baby would not be who he is without his father, and I thank God for the spirit that grows inside of me,” the gorgeous mama completed her post. “Only thing that matters, we are Baby Flores’ parents.”
Malika always knew she wanted to be a mom, but how it happened came as a bit of a surprise. “Deciding to freeze my eggs as a gift to myself on my 35th birthday was pretty hilarious now at this point because I have eggs in the freezer I may never use,” she admitted in November 2019 during Facebook Watch’s alongside her sister, Khadijah Haqq. “I made a baby in love and those eggs weren’t necessary. It’s funny how you plan and then life happens.” Life is full of surprises, right?
“The reason why I was so excited to learn that I was pregnant was because I knew that my life was going to change for the better, the greatest blessing that I’ve always wanted but didn’t know I was going to get, is finally here,” she added.
Congrats to Malika and O.T.!
