Look out, there’s a new hottie on the block and he goes by the name Gurfateh Pirzada! The good-looking fella made his acting debut in the Netflix film Guilty alongside Kiara Advani, and since then, the audience has been looking forward to his next outing as an actor. Recently, filmmaker Karan Johar brought him on board his talent management agency Dharma Cornerstone Agency (DCA).
While we are yet to learn more about his dreams and desires as an actor, TMM got him to spill some beans on matters of the heart. Gurfateh, who will soon be seen sharing space with Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt in Brahmastra, tells about love, life and everything in between…
A chick flick you secretly love?
There’s no secret about it. I love chick flicks! I really like the movie 10 Things I Hate About You.
Your favourite romantic pair on screen?
Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone, hands down!
Your first kiss was at the age of…?
I was 16 years old. I remember it happened at the amphitheatre in school. It was Valentine’s Day. It was late evening. My life changed after that! (laughs)
The celebrity you would love to take out for a cup of coffee?
Mahira Khan. I love her. She is really pretty and amazing as an actress.
Your idea of the perfect date – camping under the stars or indulging in adventure sports?
Definitely camping under the stars. That sounds more like a date. Maybe add some soft music and if there is provision for it, I would probably cook a meal too.
The worst/cheesiest pick-up line you have heard?
I think it was ‘I have lost my teddy bear. Can I sleep with you instead? (laughs) It made me laugh and I don’t think it’s a bad pick-up line actually.
A lesson you learnt from a relationship that did not work out?
None of my relationships worked out (laughs). I think everything takes its time and there’s a right time for anything to happen in your life. Sometimes things don’t happen the way you want them to and that’s okay. Experiences are more important. So, indulge, get your heart broken and it will be fine again.
What’s the first thing you notice about a girl?
In terms of appearance, it would be her eyes and smile. Those are the things I find attractive in a woman.
What’s a major turn-off for you?
I think it’s just one thing. If the person cannot hold a conversation, then it gets boring. I think it’s important to have great communication between both genders for a good date.
Would you dress to impress a girl you like?
Maybe, but I like dressing up anyway. So, it’s not like I’ll do anything special, but I would try and be bit more presentable while being myself.
What’s the silliest/mushiest thing you have done in love?
Lots of things! I was dating this girl in school. We were in the eleventh standard. It was her birthday and I planned a month in advance. On the day of her birthday, I presented her really meaningful and special gifts every hour. We were in school, so around 10 gifts in 10 hours and probably more than 100 roses! S**t you do when you’re a teenager (laughs)
A love song that gives you goosebumps?
It’s got to be Shallow from A Star is Born.
