Turns out, playing husband and wife onscreen can most definitely turn into a real-life connection. At least that’s the case for Ben Affleck and his Deep Water costar Ana de Armas. “Their chemistry is off the charts,” a source exclusively tells Life & Style magazine, on newsstands now. “It seems like Ben and Ana have already become very close.”
“They hit it off when they first met about the movie, and things have really heated up since they started working side by side,” the insider says. “Ana admired Ben’s work, but she had no idea how smart, engaging and handsome he was in person. She’s definitely smitten, and so is he.”
Considering Ben’s long list of failed relationships, including Lindsay Shookus, Shauna Sexton and the mother of his three children, Jennifer Garner, being “smitten” again must feel rejuvenating. So much so, that everyone involved with Deep Water has noticed how giddy the longtime actor, 47, has gotten.
“Their flirting is obvious to everyone on set,” adds the source. “They have lunch, they laugh — they’re just really natural together. They look and act like a real couple.” As it happens, this wouldn’t be the first time Ben has bonded with someone during filming. In fact, that’s how he and ex-wife Jennifer, 47, met.
In the summer of 2000, the former flames were introduced on the set of Pearl Harbor. With Ben being a star in the World War II drama and Jen being a secondary character, it’s easy to forget she was in the film at all. The leading lady of the flick was Kate Beckinsale. Even so, Jen and Ben hit it off as friends.
Fast forward five years later, and they were married! Here’s hoping it doesn’t take Ben and Ana quite as long.
