When this country house hotel opened in September 2018, it instantly became the latest go-to for escapes from London. Just over an hour away from the city, the restored Georgian family home sits within 400 acres of lush meadows and ancient woodland, with two lakes (one for boating), wisteria- and rose-entwined walled gardens, fruitful orchards and a biodynamic farm where fruit, vegetables and honey are cultivated for the hotel’s two gourmet restaurants. Flowers picked from the gardens decorate the simple, but chic rooms. Interiors have a contemporary, cozy feel with natural materials, such as rushes from the nearby River Ouse, to reflect the bucolic surroundings. The Little Bothy Spa and fitness studios with Bodyism expertise — plus 67-seat screening room, wine cellar and the intimate Moon Bar — complete the package.
