Holidays are full of traditions, whether they involve family, friends and furry friends! Now that it’s Thanksgiving, you may find yourself in front of the TV watching the National Dog Show because who doesn’t love dogs? Get your pup and TV ready, y’all. Here’s everything you need to know about the prestigious dog competition show.
Where Can I Watch?
You have a variety of options on how to watch the animal-friendly show. For starters, you can go the old-fashioned way and watch it on NBC, who will be hosting the show. However, if you’re more into streaming, there are a few different ways to watch. You can either visit the NBC website by logging in with a profile in or signing in with your TV provider, you can download the NBC app, or you can watch on Hulu or YouTube as part of their paid subscription services.
What Time Is it On?
The National Dog Show will be broadcasted nationwide at 12 p.m. until 2 p.m in all timezones. This is perfect if you’re watching The Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade, which always starts at 9 a.m. and ends at 12 p.m.
Who’s Hosting?
Dog lovers John O’ Hurley, David Frei and Mary Carillo will be in charge of running the show as the dogs do their thing.
What Can I Expect?
You can expect literally nothing but greatness whenever dogs are involved. Over two thousand dogs are set to compete for the prize title of Best in Show. Approximately, there will be 2,080 dogs, made up of 195 breeds, who are coming from 40 different states across the country, according to Philadelphia Inquirer.
Is The Show Live?
It is not. The National Dog Show competition actually took place in at the Philadelphia Expo Center on November 16 and 17. We’re sure if it was live, though, it would be nothing short of entertaining. But of course, with over 2,000 pups roaming around, it must get crazy. Good thing for editing!
Can I Attend?
While it may be too late to get tickets to the show now, you can keep in mind for next year that it is possible to see the dogs in their element with your own very eyes. According to the website, ticket prices start at $7 for children and $16 for adults.
Enjoy the show!
