Hiroshi Fujiwara Is Taking Moncler Genius Off-Piste Once More

Hiroshi Fujiwara and Moncler Genius are back with the latest installment of their ongoing partnership that began in 2018, adding womenswear for the first time. The initial drop of 7 MONCLER FRGMT HIROSHI FUJIWARA 2021 once again unites decades of Moncler outdoor wear expertise with Fujiwara’s master eye for pop culture sampling.

These new arrivals center mostly on the transitional, bringing a mix of lightweight bombers, puffers, and workwear jackets up top, while Bermuda shorts and staple pants round out a decidedly more city street, rather than ski slope, offering. Those that have been waiting for women’s fragment x Moncler get quilted dresses and skirts.

The highlight piece is the puffed-out anorak jacket which bears “WORLD OF MONCLER” in massive typeface across its back. The slogan is a signature of Hiroshi Fujiwara’s design world, and this piece is the result of Fujiwara’s take on that for Moncler.

The duo’s new collection follows Jacquemus taking his “La Montagne” collection down the runway last week; yet another signifier that both luxury and streetwear are definitely not done with the outdoors.

The collection will be available at Moncler boutiques, moncler.com, and in selective wholesale networks worldwide. A short film, conceptualized and soundtracked by Fujiwara and directed by ODD JOB, celebrating club culture has been released alongside the collection. As is expected with anything fragment, the wider collection draws on a range of subcultures and collaborators, interpreting iconic Converse silhouettes and bringing British leather specialist Lewis Leathers back on board.
