Celebrating its fifth anniversary this year, the Romanesque structure was converted into a hotel in 2012 by Swiss-Italian architect Marco Serra, and the 12th-century abbey was meticulously restored to retain the historic details. It is a truly private hideaway — the estate spans a massive 1,730 acres, over 500 of which are vineyards. The wine created is outstanding and the wine-making extends to the spa treatments.
