As Confucious wisely said “Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life.” This is exactly how I feel about my job, being able to work with inspiring people, in beautiful surrounding. For our lifestyle and fashion project, my friend and colleague Vicky Bouzouni of Style – Rules and I were looking for a prime location, cozy surroundings and distinct interiors.
The brand new Grecotel Pallas Athena Boutique Hotel located in the historical centre of Athens at the Kotzia square was the ideal place. The hotel is located in a walking distance from the Monastiraki square and Acropolis can easily be reached by taking the Athens underground metro.
For lovers of impressive Artwork this art hotel in Athens is a perfect destination. Our home for the day was an Art Chic Suite, Room 202 and it was chic indeed. We had selected the Yellow Art Suite with a fancy, playful and cartoonlike graffiti portrayed on one of the walls. This suite was painted by an artist named b, who is not only the artist behind the graffiti in this luxury Suite in Athens but his other works are also exhibited in various areas of Grecotel Pallas Athena.
The special features of this suite are the floor to ceiling windows that open up to a large private balcony with views of the Kotzia square, the inside space is generous covering an area of 50 square meters, with two bathrooms, work desk, free Wi-Fi and a sitting area where one can unwind in front of an LCD TV. What is characteristic about this hotel concept is that no room is the same meaning that guests can choose from other themed guestrooms from the Art Chic Suites Collection such as Spiderman, Skyfall and Batman.
The uniqueness of this hotel is that you find yourself in a real life Art Gallery and every corner takes you to a different, joyful and magical environment where you loose yourself in the thoughts of the carefree, playful childhood days. Here you are inspired to create and this is what we did, by bringing together Greek Designers and portraying their work in this dynamic environment.
Although our working schedule was quite tight we did manage to steal a few moments to enjoy the best hotel breakfast which serves a wide choice of hot and cold dishes, a variety of croissants and pies, fresh fruits, omelets, pies and the unique Cretan corner that offers traditional products such as “dakos”, “apaki”, “mizithropitakia” and many other delicacies.
The restaurant is located on the first floor and overlooks the Kotzia square, a warm and inviting ambience awaits those in search of authentic dining experiences. In the evening we enjoyed an exceptional dinner, savouring flavours of Greece prepared with an international touch.
In the afternoon the hotel lobby was transformed into a glamorous soiree to celebrate the spirit of the Holidays and the success of the projects in the making. The Pallas Athens lobby has been designed to resemble a warm and cozy home environment with a fireplace and comfortable furniture providing an atmosphere of inviting warmth.
Grecotel Pallas Athena we will be back. Happy Holidays from all of us at Passion for Greece!
