When it comes to successful blended families in Hollywood, Katy Perry, Orlando Bloom and his son, Flynn, are at the top of the list! So much so, that the A-list bride and groom-to-be are making sure the actor’s 8-year-old will be front and center on their big day!
“Flynn will play a special part,” a source exclusively tells Life & Style magazine, on newsstands now. “Katy’s extremely close to him.” Unsurprisingly, the “Firework” singer, 35, has been very vocal about the pair’s strong bond and how it’s changed her life. Speaking with Ellen DeGeneres during a September 18 episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Katy explained that her relationship with Flynn has taught her a great deal about responsibility.
“We have to be out the door at 7:30 to be there at 8:15 and we cannot be late. I used to not wake up until 11 a.m. and now, I’m in bed like a normal person at 10 p.m., just like … falling asleep,” Katy explained of her new morning routine, which includes picking up Flynn from Miranda Kerr’s house. Orlando, 42, and Miranda, 36, welcomed Flynn in 2011. Two years later, the former flames ended their three-year marriage.
“I guess this has definitely matured me. I guess this is adulting,” Katy continued. “That’s why I still dress like a child, to fight against!” Of course, being forced into “adulting” is all worth it. Katy and Orlando are beyond happy together. “He is the kindest soul. He is the kindest man I’ve ever met,” she gushed to the longtime TV host.
“He shows up and he’s such an encouragement spiritually, emotionally, and physically. I do not care to work out and he’s like, ‘Let’s go work out! Let’s go do hot yoga!’ That’s kind of our love language is all things spiritual and working out.” Thankfully, it won’t be long until we get to see Katy and Orlando say “I do” in front of their loved ones.
