When traveling during the winter, it can be tempting to leave behind slush-soaked sidewalks of New York and the frigid winds for sunny skies and an easy ocean breeze. Don’t get me wrong, I do love a tropical getaway like the one I just took in Hawaii, but I also love a snowy winter wonderland as well! There are so many beautiful places to visit in the winter, and my favorite just so happens to be Aspen. I love Aspen so much that I have been twice this winter, and am already dying to return again!
Packing for a winter getaway can be a little stressful, since colder climates require more layers and bulkier pieces. Getting away with a carry-on is unlikely, but if you pack smart, you can put together some super chic winter outfits that will keep you warm and stylish.
My tip for packing and planning outfits for a winter getaway is to bring a few basics that you can rewear and layer upon. A pair of black leggings, white and dark denim, solid color long sleeve tees and cashmere sweaters. Then, I can wear those as a base and have fun with the outerwear and accessories, like jackets, furs, hats, scarves, gloves, and purses!
