Hands up if your love natas? Pastel de nata are the official name for a Portuguese egg tart. Ssh I even love them more than the HK style ones. Did you know Pastéis de nata were created by Catholic Monks in the 18th Century.
Anyways London has its very own boutique café dedicated to natas, you can find I Love Nata in Covent Garden and the newly opened location in Soho. I Love Nata flagship store in Covent Garden resides on Endell Street. It’s a tiny establishment with a small counter selling nothing else but Natas, in Original, Chocolate and apple and cinnamon. There are hot drinks available to order and a handful of seats to sit in.
Interior is simply with dark earthy brown accents and wooden chairs and tables. The table top has cute shape natas with cinnamon and sugar. Traditionally you sprinkle the cinnamon and sugar on before eating but I love to eat them as is.

Prices for 1 Nata is £1.95 and gets cheaper when you buy more than four. I Love Nata Portuguese custard tarts are one of my favourites in London. There’s something comforting in biting into the warm wobbly creamy custard, smell of vanilla essence filling the nostrils and the very flaky crunch of the crisp pastry. It’s a bonus if you order them and they are fresh out of the oven. My favourite are the originals but if you fancy a different flavour the other two are great options. Soho has the savoury options available.
I have the best Managing Director at work he treated everyone to boxes of I Love Nata, prior to my visit and I already knew how amazing they were. I urge you try them especially they are hard to come by fresh, most cafes I’ve tried are not fresh.
