For those who enjoy getting lost in the intriguing histories and remarkable craftsmanship behind rare antiques, the annual Association of Art and Antiques Dealers fair, known as LAPADA, is a calendar must.
WATCH: View the most exceptional pieces at LAPADA 2014:
As the first antiques trade association to introduce a Code of Practice, LAPADA’s 600 members make it the largest and most credible association of professional art and antiques dealers in the United Kingdom.
Now in it’s 40th year, the enviably-placed event at Berkeley Square showcases relics from 100 members in a huge marquee, where the 18th Century trees complement the medley of collections.
From ancient artifacts to rare Matisse artworks and centuries-old jewels, there is almost too much to ponder and peruse, and not enough hours to do so.
Elite Traveler visited the show to talk to some of the long-standing members, and discover some of the most exceptional pieces known to collectors.
