Having been first announced eight years ago, the doors have finally opened to the brand new Four Seasons Hotel Madrid, which promises to bring a new standard of luxury hospitality and accommodation to the Spanish capital.
Combining seven different historic buildings to create one destination, Four Seasons Hotel Madrid’s exterior is as impressive as you would expect from any premises within the established collection. Sitting on the corner of a busy intersection, the building’s façade features intricate stone work, with a gilded clock face sitting high atop the front of the building. Although beautiful by day, it is at dusk when the building is at its most spectacular, with tasteful lighting illuminating the historic premises.
Although Madrid is regarded as one of Europe’s top cultural destinations, the hotel is an art destination in itself, housing an impressive 2,500-strong collection of pieces including sculptures, paintings and photographs. The hotel’s curator, Paloma Fernández-Iriondo, has successfully celebrated the country’s vibrant art scene by collating the works of Spanish artists – most of whom are emerging.
For guests’ peace of mind in the current climate, Four Seasons Hotel Madrid has introduced the use of the Four Seasons Chat App and Chat. Having already won awards, the app allows guests to contactlessly arrange restaurant reservations, in-room dining, luggage pick up and other concierge services, guaranteeing the seamless and attentive service that Four Seasons is famed for.
Stay
Four Seasons Hotel Madrid’s 200 rooms and suites are some of the largest in the city, with an impressive selection for guests to choose from. Although all rooms are decorated to an impressively high standard, with many featuring unique architectural details, the hotel’s Royal Suite is undoubtedly the crème de la crème.
Set at the very front of the hotel across 4,300 sq ft, the palatial Royal Suite features an unusual triangular layout. With one bedroom, a fitness space, two living areas, a study and a dining room, the Royal Suite is perfect for both relaxing and entertaining.
In addition to the rooms and suites, Four Seasons Hotel Madrid also offers 22 private residences. Combining first-class service with the security of exclusive ownership, the private residences are available with either one, two or three bedrooms.
Dine
With three bars and restaurants, as well as in-room dining options, guests are spoilt for choice at Four Seasons Hotel Madrid. Dani, by Spanish celebrity chef Dani Garcia, champions Spain’s culinary heritage and promises a contemporary take on traditional Andalusian cuisine. Situated on the hotel’s rooftop with captivating vistas across the city, Dani is the ideal spot for a celebration.
Traditional local fare can be sampled at El Patio, a bar-come-bakery with a relaxed, informal atmosphere. For something a little different, head to Isa, the hotel’s friendly gastrobar serving up Asian-inspired tapas alongside creative cocktails prepared by a team of talented mixologists. For a more personal affair, guests can enjoy in-room dining, with everything from a simple breakfast in bed to a gastronomic private dining experience available.
Explore
Situated in the very heart of the city, between Puerto del Sol and Barrio de las Letras, Four Seasons Hotel Madrid is the perfect spot from which to explore. The hotel is walking distance from Madrid’s main attractions, including serene parks, iconic museums and chic shopping destinations.
The hotel’s dedicated concierge team is on hand to help guests create tailored itineraries based on personal interests, as well as point out Madrid’s must-see hidden treasures.
Relax
Although the spa at Four Seasons Hotel Madrid is not yet open, it is already promising to cause quite the stir when it opens its doors. Set over two floors, the spa is set to be the biggest in the city at 15,000 sq ft, with a soaring reception area providing an impressive welcome.
Guests can enjoy a wide range of unique spa services in the eight treatment rooms, with a highlight being the Restorative Massage. Designed to minimize the effects of jetlag, the Restorative Massage is the perfect way to kick off a busy city break in Madrid.
The spa facilities also include a stunning glass-walled, 46 ft swimming pool with boundless natural light, as well as an adjacent sun terrace with impressive views across the city skyline. Guests can also make use of the fully-equipped, 24-hour fitness center.
Suites from $1,320 per night; Royal Suite prices available on request.
